Yet again this hits us. What is going through people’s head to make them take the work of others and claim it for yourself? That is like someone coming in after Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and say they wrote it. Someone else claiming the Mona Lisa. I can go on and on… How can they feel any sense of pride in themselves?
Really. Think on it. Every review that comes in should be a constant reminder of ‘I stole this… they are praising me for stealing. I am breaking (PS don’t trust spell check!) one of the Ten Commandants.’ A basis of every faith says no stealing. And yet that is what these people are doing. Every review, and for ficlet’s thief, every dollar she earned.
And how can they really think this is going to end? That they will get away with it? Have they never heard of Cheaters never win?!?!?!
ficlet informed me that we had an award winner from You Want Blood awards that stole her story. We have pulled that award from that person, and have formally declared that any such cases will be handled the same way. And since so many people do follow us, well let us just say it does no good. As it is, I feel bad that we didn’t catch this, but to be truthful, we were so overwhelmed with the response from you guys, it was everything we had to make sure all the stories were in rules we had set. I remember many a times of waking up, working on the lists, and then going to bed just to repeat. The other ladies were doing the same, even sneaking in time at work to get it done. So there was no way to do anything but see if the story falls into the rules.
Since I am on another site than WordPress, I cannot just share the report as I used to do. But at the same time, this gives me a chance to say my piece as well.
Thank you for your time!

This latest plagiarism scandal has highlighted to me that Wattpad is a site to keep an eye on. It went unnoticed that someone was offering up an E/S story for a very long time that is a blatant copy of the most read story on there, the math on their billion reads eludes me but it’s fair to say that After is very well read. I only knew of Wattpad when I scolded my teenage cousin last week for using it to read a pirated version of the Maze Runner. It caters to a generation that has a very loose interpretation of ownership and it shows with the ease of use this person took possession of another’s work.
Completely unrelated but I know you like your feedback, since the switch over to the self hosting site I see the notifications on my reader when I’m on my pc but it won’t show up in the wordpress app reader on my tablet or phone.
