My turn!

I didn’t do this yesterday, but it needs to be addressed…

Don’t mess with my friends.

Simple right?  You won’t believe how many people don’t think of this as a simple idea to not do.  I can forgive and forget with the best when it comes to me.  Ask Meridian.  But when I stand up for something is when I see something happening to another.  When others attack my friends, when I see injustices happening, when people do wrong things to my friends.  I have no problem getting into someone’s face, and will say things.

That person who cuts in front of another in a line?  Yep, I am the one who said something.  My mom left a store one day when she thought I was going to get into a fight.  It is my weakness.  I just cannot forgive and forget.  Turn the other cheek and so forth. Who deserves to be picked on, to be put down and so forth?  It happened to me a lot, and it is not something anyone should veer go through.  When you talk or write or whatever you use to communicate with, think of who it might hurt.

Turns out another one of my friends got her story plagiarized.  What the heck? This is becoming a trend, you know that whole history repeating itself crap.  (See how I tied to another post I did?  Yep.  I do that shit.) I can give tons of kudos to the lady who did it to me, when I talked to her, she took the story down. Huge kudos for her admitting the mistake and owning to the mistake.  You guys don’t know what guts it takes to admit you are wrong, especially to the person who you did something wrong to.  It happens all the time, and people try to ignore it, or use excuses to try to justify themselves.  They try blaming others for their own shortcomings, and when you try to help them, they refuse the help.  It’s a downward spiral that normally doesn’t hurt the people you think, it is those innocent souls that get hurt.  And that shit aint cool.

Wrong is wrong.  I have done wrong, and it is why I forgive easier.  I have a temper.  Yeah, I know.  You are shocked.  I control it well.  Actually, let’s give credit.  I am slow to anger when it comes to myself, and I excuse people thinking I am overreacting even when the person takes a knife and stabs me in the back.  Yes.  True story.  Well not literally, but yeah.  Actually… yeah story for another time. Back to what I am saying.

I have been inspired reading stories. Or songs, movies, books and so forth.  We are all humans, and inspiration can hit in many ways. When I know about it, I give credit. Shoot, that song on top of each and every chapter?  That is my credit to who inspired me to write the chapter. The fandom I am writing in?  Another nod to the creators.  I don’t claim to own anything but my idea.  Royal Ember is one of the examples of a story that someone else agonized over, worked on and so forth that inspired a spark in my head and so is Blood on your Lips, Feral Blood.  Shoot, I know I was so inspired that I wrote to the author, and after promising her I was not stealing her story, I got permission.  And if you read it (What If), there is not much similarities.  I could only hope to write as well as her!!  But I gave credit.

In my story In The End, there is a similar situation, one that I never dreamed of being a idea from another author.  The author Mavrosal.  I use a panther.  I did not even think about it until I read something later and went looking.  Why did I choose a panther?  The green eyes.  The same as Olivia, my character.  I have LOVED panthers and Tigers since I was a little girls.  I love the cats, but those two are some of my favorite, along with cougars.

I picked the panther because I wanted the creature I saw them as. Majestic, loving, affectionate.  Loyal.  Their sleek coat to me was perfect for the whole story and being sneaky.  Nothing else.  I had the idea and then tried to figure out how to implement it.  I let my fingers do the typing thing, and she became Sookie’s guardian.  Never once did I think of the Dying Series.  Not.  One.  Thought.  So if I took the idea from her story, I am sorry.  My bad.  It was never meant to be.  It was a nod to a cat that I love.  If a tiger would have worked, yeah.  And no I didn’t know about the panthers in Hot Shot yet either.

There.  I admitted my mistake.  It was unintentional but because it was brought to my attention I gave credit.  Was that so hard?  No.

When you steal someone’s story, you are stealing their work, their tears, their time and their frustrations.  You take the from them the pain from banging their heads against immovable objects when the story is not quite going the way they want.  You take the smiles from their faces when someone comments on the story or favorites them.

And while the worst are the ones who actually steal it word for word, there is equally the ones who paraphrase your story.  The one you spent nights up late losing sleep to pound out an outline, to talk with someone about it.  The one you agonized about publishing.  The one you spent hours on the internet making sure what you are writing is right, finding those pics to inspire you, to get everything down pat.

All we want is that credit.  A quick line saying, hey, I read this amazing story and it inspired me to write this.  It takes away from your work, cause people are going to think, I read this already, or did they steal another’s idea?  And you lose readers.  Because it pisses a lot of readers who are actually writers off.  And if they though they read it already, and am looking for a new story they x out of it.

This has happened to my friends.  And to me, but like I said, the person was nice, owned up and removed the story.  I love my fans and the support I have from them, that this was awesome.  But sadly, the latest perpetrator doesn’t want to give credit.

Don’t mess with my friends.

They have a deadline in my head, and if I hear nothing resolving from it, I will start acting on the options I have.  The nice civil ones.  And go from there.

I have others who think they are hurting others, but the ones they are hurting are the true reason why we are angry at them.  Remember that whole I forgive you for attacking me but not for attacking my friends?  Yeah.  That.  Bad.  Very, very bad.  like poking the angry tiger, or hornet nest bad.  You don’t want to do that.  Not at an innocent soul.  It pisses me off.

The lesson here?  Give ducking credit where it is deserved.  And don’t attack my friends.

Now… go read your favorite author, smile and it will all be ok.  Leave them a review to let them know you acknowledge their sweat, sacrifice, the mental torturing we put ourselves through and all for writing something we hope will please you.

Wendy

Thank You!

As many of you know, I went out of town this past weekend for one of the worst reasons ever.  A funeral.  No one likes having to see loved ones for such a sad occasion.

While I was there, I would have all these alerts coming to me on my phone, from new followers.  It put a smile on my face.  Then the comments started.  More smiles.  And this past weekend, smiles were needed.  We were constantly reminded that is what Russ would like us to do, raise a glass to him, and have a party.  Party moods will come later, Russ.

With my phone going off during this time, I was asked what was going on, which reminded me about the post I did.  They loved it.  And then looked to site, amazed what I had here.  I gave credit where credit was due.  To 4Padfoot.  I just write the stuff in my head, my betas make it all pretty, and Robin makes the site look great.  So thank you!

What am I going to do now?  I am going to get a one shot inspired by the song Austin, and Royal Ember must have sent something to my brain, sine it keeps dreaming up a story.

Right now, one of the sad things about coming back from the desert is that I am sick.  Aching bones, can’t breathe, just yuck!   I am blaming my hubby, but he keeps insisting he aint sick, its allergies.  Sure….

I will leave you with this.  Thank you so much.  You helped make this painful experience easier by distracting me.  though I cried, I was much better than normal, since I am normally a sympathy crier.

Memorial Day

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzOn6GqNFdk?rel=0]

Those of you that have been here since I started, know one thing.  I am a big supporter of the Armed Forces.  Not just because I am from a family rich in serving the military, no.  While we have a history of it, and I am proud of it, but that means nothing to those families that give all for my freedom.

No.  It is because I love my freedom.  It’s because I know what that freedom I love costs our families.  I know the fear of someone not coming home.   I know the joy of seeing them when they do. I know the fear in wondering if they’re ok.  I remember very clearly the day this country was attacked.  I remember sitting in front of the TV, devastated.

I remember walking through the veteran’s cemetery here in Houston, looking for my Grandfather’s place.  Seeing all the people who have given all so I can be here today writing this.  I cry when I listen to songs like the one above, knowing that it was the grace of God that I didn’t have to be here in this graveyard for the ones who served that I love.

I remember when the Gulf War started.  I remember listening to people crying out against us being on foreign soil.  And most of all, I remember my own history…

See, I never understood why we never remember the history that was taught to us all through school. I know I was told over and over history repeats itself, and I have seen this come true.  You doubt me?  Let’s take a couple journeys.

Once upon a time, there was a man who decided he was stronger than others, that he knew better than anyone else.  He decided that he will take his war ravaged people, and make them a force to be reckoned with.  His people needed direction, they had been preyed upon, and they gladly followed him.  He exterminated millions.  He killed to keep them strong.  Once he unified his people, he turned his vision on the outside, and he decided to take what he thought was his right.

Now who am I talking about?  I bet a lot of you think Hitler.  What about Alexander the Great?  Or even Julius Caesar?  Genghis Kahn?  Any of these ring a bell?

How about this one?  A group of rebels fought against the unfair rulings of the people in charge of the time.  They made a stand, and drew their line in the sand.  They protested, they tried a peaceful resolution.  The people in power decided that is was time to make an example of them.   They came back and were harsher against the people that had only wanted their voices to be heard.  They ignored the voices, and the people took action to make their lives better, suffering under the tyranny of those above them.

America is an example.  China, France, and the specific one I was thinking about?  England.  Magna Carta ring a bell to anyone?  But my husband read this and brought up the Greeks of ancient history.

You are probably seeing a trend.  Yes, I was told a lot of this was not taught.  I have had some awesome history teachers, but most of the time, I will admit I was bored in class.  I would read the book.  I also had a father who loved history, and I lived in an area rich in history.  Yes, I was born into Pittsburgh, and if you are from up north, history is everywhere you turn, if you do not willfully ignore it.  The same thing if you live in Europe and so forth.

The point?  That history does repeat itself.  Remember when America was founded?  Who came to help us?  The French.  Who did we fight against?  The Brits.  Now.  Who are our closest allies?  The Brits, and who did we save from another country?  The French.

I know you guys are like, “Wendy, this has nothing to do with now. We are fighting a war for oil.”

Hmm.  One more example.  Gun control.  There was a country who decided that there needed to be gun control.  They were strict, tired after a war had ravaged their country, a war raged on their very soil by their allies.  They took away all the guns.  And yes the country was safe-ish.  Until another country decided to attack them.  Then the farmers, the city-dwellers, and others tried to defend their homes agasint the invaders. They tried to fight with the weapons they had been left with.  And they were slaughtered.

The country?  Poland.  The invaders?  The Germans of the second World War. The people were brave.  They fought for their freedom, to maintain it.  They fought against tanks, armies with guns with nothing other than pitchforks and axes.  It was all they had since guns kill people. You know what is funny about that?  Guns do nothing.  I have been around guns all my life, and never once been hurt by one.  They lie there under the beds, in the closets and safes, and never do anything.

Now.  Give a gun to a human, and you have a different story.  Depending on the human, that gun will become a weapon. But you know what? So do steak knives, axes, and sharp pieces of wood. Shoot, with the right human, a spoon can be deadly.  What are you going to do?  Take my spoons away?

I grew up with more freedom than people do now.  I could ride my bike with no helmet.  I used to be able to run around in a street fair without the worry someone would take me.  I ran with scissors, and I played games.  You know what?  I survived.  I thrived, not just survived.  I had more fun and learned more than kids often do now a days.  My parents were responsible for me.  Not the public, my parents.  They made the choices to decide if I could read something, they took the responsibility to raise me.  I know my choices have consequences.  I know if I do not work hard, I will gain nothing.  There are no consolation prizes in real life.  There are no graduations for being able to survive on your own.

And that freedom was gifted to me by the very people who are on the front lines, trying to protect us – the ones who fight for freedom.  To have that freedom to celebrate the God I wish to know.  I am not forced to believe in the God of my neighbor.  Which is good, I have no idea if they believe in God, Allah, Buddha and so on.  Why?  It’s their right to worship who they please.  My beliefs are not even the same as my family. I know this because I used to argue with both my dads all the time. One tried to use the Bible, the other history. I argued against both of them, and told them I believe my God is right, and they are just interpreting things a little more literal than he might.  We all decided to have our differences, and that was it.  What did we argue about?  The seven days of creation.

My freedom gave me the right to argue with them, to exercise my freedom of speech.   And lordy knows I like to argue my points.  I like to talk, (If you haven’t noticed!)  I also acknowledge that my opinions are just that.  My opinions.  I think differently than others.  I am different than others.  You are different too.  If we weren’t, well the world would be really boring.  What would be thrill of living?

Today is the day to remember those who fight for that right, not just for us, but for others.  It is an American Holiday that is often mistaken as the beginning of the grilling season. The summer holidays are coming.  The roads to Galveston were horrible.  Everyone and their mothers was out to go to the beach, to get drunk, to celebrate.  It is not the reason the holiday was put here.

It is to remember those who give all, so you have the right to go out to the beach and party until you are drunk.  They offer themselves to the front lines of bullets buzzing by their heads to give that basic human right to others, to make sure others can do what we are doing today.  They stand and take orders from people yelling in their faces, to be able to give me the right to choose if I am going to write this post and share my thoughts.

Is it too much to give a thought to those warriors?  They would sacrifice their lives for you.  They get paid less than someone who plays football. They come home, and suffer from the terrors of the battlefield, so we don’t have to.  They get no recognition from the general public, and often have protestors around when their grieving loved ones are at their funerals.

So while you are out grilling, or whatever you are doing today, remember these facts.  No matter what people think, there are consequences for each and every human right we have in America.  History will repeat itself, and people will deny it. We will not learn from the past, thinking that it does not apply to the here and now.  There are those who try to heed the lessons taught, and they will be unpopular.  There are those who will deny that events happen when there is proof of it.  And out there right now, a soldier of the United States of America is lying on a bed, in the sand, on an operating table, or breathing their last, giving you the right to disagree with me, to ignore what I say, and to believe in what you think.

It’s Sunday…

Love me

Which unfortunately means Monday will be coming after midnight.  Blech can we just skip to Saturdays and repeat?  And still get paid for those days between.  You know, as in our clones work for us as we sleep and so on?  No?  Ah well.  I tried!  You love me anyways right?

Ok.. this week you have had two new chapters.  And there is a rumor of two more chapters coming to you guys from well established series here.  Why?  Cause I made a deal and I am honoring it.  Yep.  You make a deal with me for a chapter, and I will pay up.  Two people asked, and now two chapters I will start working on.  So this week will be a great one to stalk around.

You guys are freaking awesome!! I am over 400K visitors to this site.  This site that I said, heck with it, I can post and hopefully a couple people will come read it.  You guys rock and I am speechless.

The interview for this month?  Eric with In The End.  I will be working on that this week along with the two stories.  It will be after the stories since I just write the answers he gives me.  LOL!   The Kittyinaz Facebook writing challenge ends Wednesday, and I am going to try to make the banners for all the contestants.  So if you want to enter, remember, even I don’t know who writes what.  I don’t find out until the voting is done by you guys.  So if you are nervous, just submit it.  No one will know you did it until the end, and you can see other love your work!!

I have an Deviant Art account.  Guess what name it is under. Yep, Kittyinaz. LOL.  I have been putting the stuff I have been making over there, as well as some stuff I made for when I write.  Like a bloodline and stuff like that.  I see in pictures, so I work in pictures.   So it is over there in case you guys are wondering about information about Clocks.

Robin has informed me the Amazon page here is updated for Mother’s Day.  Yep.  We are getting ready for it, and please use the link to buy your stuff.  It helps me, and costs you nothing at all.  I sound like a broken record about it, but hey, it makes me money so I can show Marty that there is a benefit for writing.  Now to finish up my little side project, get my promises done, and back on schedule.  I have two more stories to finish before I edit.  Then I will be off to finish my original fiction so we can get that ball rolling.

My little side project?  To make character banners for all of In The End.  I have TONS of respect for Sephrenia!!!  I have as of this posting, two left.  I will be finishing them up, then going to bed.  I have to take Marty to the Dentist, he has spent an entire weekend in so much pain it hurts to see him.

You have seen the information for Crossover Haven and The awards that will open up for nominations?  Yeah, go read below this post.  There is plenty to read and see….

So who is getting the spotlight?  Gyllene FanFiction.  She was the one that took the time to teach me on Elements, and she makes some wonderful Banners!!!   I am in awe of her and hope to only catch up with her abilities.  Below are a few Banners she has made for me.

She is not only an amazing artist, but she writes as well!!! Click on her name and it will take you to her site!

Now for the Fan Made Videos

The first one is for our Once Upon a Time fans.  Captain Swan!!!!  It is made by Ivana Cincur, using Fix You by Cold Play.  I love this even though it is of their first season.  But since I am still there in writing, it works. LOL Feel free to subscribe to her, and let her know you came over from Kittyinaz’s Site!

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jcpyi3BArZU?rel=0]

This next one is stuck in my head and won’t leave me alone.  It may end up being the next song I use for a story that is mentioned in it.  It is a True Blood fanfic!  It is by andrajacsi call Love Don’t Die.  Again, let her know who sent you and leave some reviews for her!

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_29Z3UllIM?rel=0]

And just because I liked it, here is another one from her…

  [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLzA9zs7Pa8?rel=0]

That is it for tonight.  I am off to finish off my two last banners, and then I will be hitting the bed.  I will see and talk to you later this week!

Enjoy!

cropped-tb-svm-fanfic-awards

That brings me to another announcement.  While we waited for the awards to be announced slowly, Mistress Jessica1028, 4PadFoot, Gyllene and Magsmacdonald got to talking about awards.  From this conversation, we actually moved forward and are going to have one for those in the TB/SVM.  Yes, we know there are the Fangies, and we are not trying to steal the spotlight, but we liked the idea of a couple different contests around that we have been in.  So You Want Blood Awards came about.  And yes that pic is one of my infamous clicky links, cause 4PadFoot aka WordPress Whisperer has already got us a site!!!!  We are gearing up for the contest and have the categories ready and so on.  Nominations will open on May 1st, and will be one week long.  So please pay attention while we play it up, and help make this a great year for our first shot at it.

Crossover Haven… OMG!!  You people ROCK!!!!  We have had a day of almost 1k hits and it has not really slowed down!   And kudos to Bertie Bott for getting one of my favorite FanFiction Crossover writers to post on our site.  For those that don’t know, Crossover Haven is a place for ANY and ALL crossovers to be.  We are still working to suggestions put out on streamlining the site.  Also, while the site has some crossovers listed, we did it to try to show that we will accept anything that falls in our guidelines.  ANY crossovers will be considered, and only if you have incest, rape as being the main part of the story as in it being done to the main characters not as a past story point, or domestic abuse unless again, a story point.  We wish to have some guidelines for the grammar, as in not all in lower case, or upper case and stuff like that.  And for what is considered ok?  Well, to be blunt, if one of the people who reads and sets up the stories has a question, then they talk to the rest of us to agree.  Plus there is a judging panel in case there is any questions from the people submitting.

Why was the Crossover Haven brought about?  Twilighted.  They rejected ED saying that it had too many grammar issues.  I heard other people complaining when I said something, and how that crossovers that are not Edward/Bella are rejected.  So I came up with a place for them to be submitted and NOT have to wait a freaking month to just be rejected.  Plus I really love crossovers.  To read, write and just all around love looking at the ideas.  It is how I got into True Blood, I read a Godric/Bella fic that I cannot find anymore.  But it started me reading True Blood and here I am today.

I am true believer in also helping people get started and recognized for their unique skills.  So yes, there is a lot going on, and I am still writing, making banners, character profiles, hosting challenges in our group, and doing everything I can to push forward to others what amazing talents people have.  I’m paying forward the love and respect I have gotten from others.  You guys are the one who encouraged me to chase my dreams, and so much has come from it.  I wish to help others do the same…

So go forth.. read, write, and so on!  Tell me of your talents, and I will showcase them as I can!  If you wish to participate, or have ideas for things, come to the Facebook group and you will not believe the support you can earn with it.  Its a great feeling when others see what you can do.  Shoot, MamaKitty, my mom, is part of my group!  And there is a current challenge there, and I even have the banner for the current contest done: (And to have it, you just need to submit a one shot!)

Participation 0414_edited-1

Enjoy!  And I will see you soon.

Hello Strangers!

1962717_457757571017288_2107642000_n

I know it has been awhile for postings, but we have been busy.  Unfortunately, the beta in charge of the anticipated story is not ready for posting, and no pressuring to her!! She needs her rest!!!

However… Over in the Kittyinaz Facebook group, a group of ladies had been talking about how they are wanting to know more about writing or was having writers block.  We try to help our ladies out, and talked with them over different ideas to help them out.   If you don’t know me on Facebook, I have a huge wall, and I go through it often.  As I go through it, I share the stuff I find on my wall, share our favorite actors, and jokes on the Kittyinaz or my wall.  One day I found this perfect picture that literally inspired me with a look.

So… I made a challenge.  I am always looking for ways to get the ladies involved with the group, and this one post inspired some of the longest conversations and people wanting to write.  We got five submissions, and hope that the next one (The contests will be posted in the group only, then posted here for voting) will have more.  We have an awesome Banner that Sharon made for those that participated.

Now, for your part.  I have posted each of the stories, without the authors names, so there is no favoritism nor any idea of who wrote what, and you, my beloved readers, get to go out there and vote.   I will leave the voting open until March 12th, 2014.  Why that date?  Well, it is so this contest can be wrapped up with the Banner one on the site, so I can get out the one for the next writers challenge.  If you want to participate, you have to join to see what it is.   We also want to get the Banners done for the winners, and get the authors credited on the stories.

This is something I am really loving, encouraging others to write.  To draw.  To make banners, to get that degree or whatever your dream is.  Life is too short not to do something you love.  Thanks to your support I am able to write, and I thank each and everyone of you! Now encourage others, by clicking the above pic to be taken to the title page of the contest, and Vote!!! (Its on the title page for 02/2014 contest.)

Other changes, Robin, our awesome WordPress Whisperer, and I had a meeting the other day. The results of this meeting is that we have added or will be adding some more pluses to the site.  We have stories to add to the recs, and since we are not seeing many of you using the Blogs I love, we are going to have a rotating banner for each category in the Stories I love that fall under that author.  More ways for you to find other authors and stories.  Crossovers are getting to be big, and we are adding more to that.  If anyone out there has a site, and is writing, TELL ME!! I support all the authors I can, which is why we have the rec page.  We have also added more to the Amazon page, including a Recommend list that I show you guys what I like on Amazon.

I ma now committed to writing a bi-weekly blog on the Food Blog, that has to do with my menus I come up with.  From what I am guessing, the ladies are still getting their feet under them, but they are linking the recipes as I mention them in the blogs.  I also list money saving ways (That are not coupon hungry since I do NOT have a printer that likes my computer, and I refuse to buy the newspaper.) so my ways of saving money are from deals I spot.  Nothing more.  I also have a working budget of $300 for food biweekly.  So it’s.. interesting.

Now I am off to try to finish the Twilight story I am working on, then Working on the MamaKitty story. (P.S. She is working on her first story, and she is posting it on WordPress, Its www.MamaKittyInAz.wordpress.com Go look and encourage her!!).  I also need to work on my original so I can work with it and see about the next step. But there are chapters to come for You’re.  And once I am done, I will have a lot to edit and get out there for you guys before I run off to write.

So go enjoy the short stories.  When I get a chance, I have a Damon Interview coming your way for You’re and the Character Bios.   I am behind.  I know.  I am trying not to stress!

Enjoy!

Wendy
