I talked with the ladies in my group, have talked this over in the past with close friends. Then I talked with M, the hubby.
See, I have insecurities. A lot of them. And I just can’t see why anyone would want to read original fiction by me. I hear so much about how I manage to find possibilities in Fanfic to write on, but not a lot is said otherwise. So, after talking to all the aforementioned people, reading the copyright laws, (which thank God I can read that stuff but my back and neck has been hurting from it!!) I am taking this chance.
You get to read an original fiction by me.
I will say this fic has been played around with by me for over five years, as well as dreamed, thought about and so on longer than that. I first was going to do Alice and Hatter from Syfy Alice (2010). That one was really involved and thought completely out. A rough draft of an outline formed from it. But then the ladies I discussed it with and I no longer were working together. We all went our own ways, due to RL.
Then I thought, hey, it would be a great idea for a Damon and Bella fic!!! I went so far as to type out chapters, crying, since it really is a sad beginning (but it is awesome later on!!!!). I had at that time started to tie together some of my fics into a universe.
But then, Charlaine Harris wrote the last book of the SVM series. I never read it, but I was in love with the characters. I had planned to read the series when she was finished, but with the ending being what it was, I refused.
I was talking with my team of betas at the time, Meridian, Bertie Bott, Mommy4Thomas, MissRissa81, MissRon80 and 4Padfoot. (I know I am missing some, and I am sorry for not remembering who was all on that night!) and I was telling them about this idea. They asked why don’t I try writing an Original Fiction series for it?
That started my mind going. I have chapters done and plan on returning to it more. But I planned out how it will work. Some of those plans had already spilled into fics. There are two individuals that have in fact appeared in my fics, and both happen to be in the Set You Free series, as well as a mention of another group in the Free Will is Everything trilogy. But that was before my ladies really talked to me and convinced me I could rewrite everything.
This was pulled before it ever got published and has sat in my files since then. But I was rereading it the other day, and while it is connected to the Brotherhood of Demons Universe, it really is separate. Armando Ignacio d’Napoli had to be different from everyone even in my universe. But I had plans for him.
So you guys get the chance to read an original fiction by me. I am sitting here nervous as hell, and debating with myself even as I wrote this. But all in all, I need to do something. This is easier to do than later when I send the manuscripts out for the first time. Obviously, it will NOT be published on Fanfiction.net. But I plan to publish on other sites I am a member of that supports Original Fiction.
When you click the button to be taken to the chapter, for the first time, you will need to go through the Original Fiction Page I made. After this chapter, by clicking the links, you agree to the terms laid out on that page. Mostly that this is a work out of my imagination. That I have the rights to tell someone no; on using my characters, my ideas and so on.
If you read the page, there is a mention of how to read my other fics. That is the only way to read them. Within a week, I will be doing the origin story(s) that will be spread out among the series to explain everything. There is also a hint how to be considered to be a pre-reader for the other works.
So please sit back, read, enjoy, and leave me a message to tell me what you think. And yes, the beginning is ambiguous. I meant it to be that way.

Yes, we have had some issues. First there were no comments enabled on the new chapter of Edge. (yes, there is a new chapter of Edge! Click on the link to be taken to it.)
Then the site went down completely.
4Padfoot spent 9 hours (yes, NINE hours) on the phone with 7 tech support agents to get this site fixed. She deserves a round of applause from everyone for her immense patience and sense of Git Er Done, that she had. (sorry M has been watching comedy shows as well as Jackie Chan movies. I need to get him out of our room and the apple tv back in my control!)
WordPress was aware of it and issued a new patch to fix the security issues. If any WordPress users get notice of a new update, please install immediately! If I understand it correctly, this is across the board. On the website that you host, and the free one. So please do install it before you have issues.
However, I will reiterate it again, we have the site fixed. And for any ladies who are listed as betas, if you have not sounded off in the Beta Chat, please do. We are working on roles of the people who are on the site and cleaning up the backend of the site. Since we have essentially restarted on the backend, we are using the opportunity to clean up some loose ends, if you do not sound back to us or have other deals with me set up, you will be erased.
So what does this mean for you, the general reader?
Nothing.
I am using this as a chance to reach out to people who have been listed as a beta, to see if they still want to be thought of as a beta. If they are just on a hiatus, then I don’t want them losing all the fun stuff just because Real Life has interfered. Real Life sucks and I don’t want to take away anything that could allow them to escape. Since as a beta they get to read all the raw stuff also.
But for what I know you are really wondering; Kittyinaz,when are the next updates coming?
I am working on it. I have spent the last three days (and possibly tomorrow) out running about trying to get my iPad fixed. It works, but we have issues that the guy is trying to fix. He is awesome, but my iPad is being ornery. The screen just doesn’t want to stay glued down! Until that is taken care of, I have been trying to deal. Texas is NOT helping, with the weather being all freaky. We have the AC on, but it will be the heater tomorrow or the day after. Oi Vey! No wonder the Flu is very prevalent right now!
To be clear, I am working where the muse takes me while trying to edit a chapter a day. It may end up being a week, but like I edited an original story in under an hour, anything can happen. Or I can happen to feel in the mood and write a couple of chapters in an hour. It is all relevant. I am hoping to update everything this year, and hopefully, finish quite a few. Yes, I know When I Pretend as well as I Never…Did and In The End are favorites to have updates. I am trying.
Off to bed, to hopefully sleep, or relax. Hope you guys enjoy the site being back up. And thanks to everyone who told us. Neither 4Padfoot nor I had any idea since we were busy with other things.
Guess what? Somehow in the madness of this past week, I managed to not only get a bunch of new betas. (And thank you very much each and every one of you!) but I managed to edit a chapter.

Yep, finally today I am working on editing Edge. I cleaned house, and have my next to last loads going in the wash right now (actually it is done, but the dryer is not, and it needs to finish so I can trade loads and yeah, you got the idea.)
So now that I have some freedom, I am ready for all those beta’s to contact me on Facebook. If you type in Kittyinaz on the site, I pop up. I added it awhile ago for my nickname so that people could find me.
There might be multiple stories available. It is no secret I have multiple stories that I write and to make it easier, I usually like one beta to a story. A couple of the older ones have more than one, and some may be indicating to me that they will like to unload. Which is perfectly fine! I think I overwork them when I get into my moods.
So please get hold of me, and I will allow you into the beta chat. I need to redo the list anyways. There are also Benefits to helping me out. You are allowed to read on this site freely, including all the drafts. And since this is a backup of every story I write, there are tons of goodies on the flip side of the site. You are admitted to the Beta Group, that is a great support group for everyone. Period. It started as my support group, but I am proud to say the ladies are freaking awesome and help each other out when there are issues.
You also get first dibs on Banners and so on. I often leak stuff to the group (Except anything on Heavenly. That one is between two ladies and me. We are keeping the suitors to ourselves!) There is help available.
But… I suck a verb tenses. I try so hard, bought Grammarly and so on. There are other things that the beta’s can tell you, but I know that one very well, and try to fix it. Unless you volunteer for a contest beta, there are no time limits. I like to talk to you about things going on, and will often open chats to talk to you and if there is a beta reader, them as well about quandaries I get myself into. (LotR!!!)
So if interested, contact me and I will talk with you. The other ladies get sounded out on you as well, since we are a big group by now.
I am sitting here trying to decide what to do for the next month contest. It will be held all next month, and then the stories will be posted from the beginning of March (depending on the banner needs) and will end as normal on the 15th of the month.
And quite frankly, I need a boost to start. So I figured I will allow you guys to vote on what you want to see for the contest. Just know that from there, you cannot have the option again until the others are done. So yes, this means I will try to host the more unique ones more often, but no promises. Something always sets them off, a picture, an idea, or even a dream.

While you do this, I am going to rework chapter 6 of LOTR, then see where the muse leads me tonight. It’s freaking hot here. I am used to 20 at night and then 60’s at the hottest. And in the house it is 75. Yuck. So I am trying to wait it out until tomorrow when we have the high at 50… Thank god.
Like I told the ladies in the group, we are still working on trying to get settled from the trip. I need to work on getting clothes done, then we can have the apple tv back and the chance to go to netflix and watch me some yummy Damon goodness. Also some Inuyasha and the rest.
So I am off to work, now that the syncs are finally done!!! As well as figure out what graphic card I may need to upgrade to now for Photoshop…. Oi Vey.
But…. I am nowhere close to being ready to do anything on my normal schedule.
My desktop has 7088 downloads for the Google Drive. And my Laptop is doing 5501. Then they have to cross sync.

The joys of no internet or having only metered. Next time I will be doing what MKnue suggested and take it to another place and allow it to catch up downloads.
Though, normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but the desktop was ‘updated’ aka restarted by Microsoft. So it didn’t update as it should have, and even managed to lock out M from his games there.
Hey, when my computer wants to be an asshat, it really does the job well.
But I am sitting here, watching things download, and working out places to put things from the trip. Cause as normal, I came back with more than I went. I have lots of new cups, both Tea (aka coffee cups, the nice thick ones too!) and a new tumbler from M. Now I have enough if it turns cold, I never have to use a coffee mug again. Though this makes me laugh since I wait for it to cool to just the right temp then drink it madly while trying not to burn myself.

Murphy has been overjoyed with us being back. And not so happy I can catch him being the klepto he has become. LOL. It will be interesting tonight when we try to sleep with all the pets jumping in bed…
Stormy was standoffish, but I bribed her with a new scratch pad as well as a treat. I threw in some expanded sun room in the office and lots of chest scratches. I finally got a purr from her.
I am looking forward to seeing everything I wrote, tossing it out to betas. I also got some offers for betaing, so I need to look through them. But it will have to be tomorrow. I slept 5 hours on top of luggage. With stops for bathroom and gas in there. Needless to stay that now that M has fed me, I am losing steam quickly. Though I am not sure what to do with all the stuff on the bed…..
The sad thing about vacations. No matter how restful they were, you need time to rest after them. Or in my case, the trip back.
I wanted to let you guys know I am back in town, with internet that actually is speedy and not metered. And that I have ALOT of stuff to download.
So be patient. I will edit what I have as soon as I can and toss it to the betas.
Yes, I am still on vacation. I am still on a metered connection, (which reset thank goodness!). I will be heading home from AZ on the 23rd of January.
Until then, I am only online when I am actually writing since I use the internet so heavily then. And to try to save the data until I get home.
However, I am finding that the freedom to write whatever I like has the muse becoming more interested.

Love Speaks in Silence (sequel to You’re) is started, but I want to watch some vampire diaries to get Damon’s voice right. IT looks alright when I go back to read, but feels so awkward to write.
Heavenly has one chapter written and teased, with me currently writing another.
The sequel to All I Want has been started….twice. Yeah, I scrapped the first start.
So, with the muse working OT, I am writing. And it seems the way I started out, writing as she hints no matter how much it jumps stories, is the best way for me to work.
Do I like this? Not really. I rather finish stories. But I am finding I am working better, and being able to jump around so much easier. So it becomes a question of…Writing not often to stay on one story, or write as she dictates.
I think I will write as dictated to. Since I rather just write!
I also did an origin story for those who are interested in my original Fiction. Once I get back and can spend more time online to make it all pretty, expect some more posts on that.

And as much as I need some betas for some stories, I prefer them to be on Facebook. Just cause it is easier to communicate. It has been the only way for the betas to contact me. My phone was able to reach Facebook when it couldn’t reach anything else. Go Figure.
I need a beta for the story Sacred. It is not finished but has 30 chapters done. I want to start editing and getting it ready for posting.
So I had given up on working what I want. My muse decided that she will work on what SHE wants not what I want. So I am now working on what she wants.

But she is working on one story. I gave a teaser out in the group, and then promptly wrote the next chapter that the betas loved. And am writing the next one. But I don’t think my group much liked the teaser. So we will see if they get more.
For those that don’t follow me on Facebook personally, it snowed here in AZ!!!! Yesterday some big fluffy snowflakes the size of small snowballs coming down. I woke up this morning expecting it gone like the last one, but the ground is mostly white (except for where the dogs and we played). So I am up early, in a warm new comfy U of A sweatshirt, candle lit, Tea made and being drank and working away while all the dogs play around me.
