I got up this morning, planning to start my massive washing of clothes since I removed the summer clothing from my closet. The winter clothes are all stored all stored outside in the garage. With raccoons and other critters here in Texas, the space saver and so on bags don’t work. In fact, it seems as if they encourage the beasties.
So I went through, took a bunch of work pants and cleared even more room in my closet (while happily finding that I was too lazy to put up the nice dress sweater and so on!). And I sorted the clothes to be ready to wash.
But when I went to wash my face, there was a trickle of hot water. I heard the water running, so I got dressed, washed in the ice cold water. Since I figured with my luck I will have to go outside, I needed the contacts.
I had helper Connor with me. And lo and behold, he really helped! Calling hubs, he walked me through turning the hot water off. I did this and went inside, but I had noticed Connor kept running underneath the house then coming back to me and looking at me. I went inside to grab a towel and looked under the house. Sure enough, in the smack middle of the house, a pipe is spraying water.
I have mentioned before we live in Houston, and the house I live in is a raised pier house. It’s not the stilt-like houses, but its about 2 feet above ground. Great most of the time for flooding, but not for anything else. I have a rug underneath my desk for a reason, since in the winter the cold comes right up. The part of the house the office is in, was built in the 1920’s.
Thankfully, when the hot water heater broke, M had worked with the plumber and learned where to turn off the water. So now, I am waterless, and trying to find someone to come out on Thanksgiving week.
Fun Times.
I am getting ready to start reading and making banners. I will time everything to show up for Thanksgiving. I may end up taking down the main page to make this happen, so no worries if it goes missing.
I will also be trying to get a chapter of Clocks up for you ladies as well. Just a reminder, the ladies in the Facebook group will know before you guys. I gotta reward them for being awesome!!!! And those who haunt the site, might find a link or two early…..

I’m sitting here writing my shopping list for groceries. And I am heavily using the Kittyinaz’s Group Food Blog.
Yes, that is right, we have a Food Blog, and everyone is welcome to visit, use it, and even donate your recipes to it! There are alot of recipes on it, and seeing the list that the wonderful ladies have for it, there area going to be even more!
What am I using it for?
Grandma’s Stuffing – Yes, this is my family list. Cheap bread and White Corn Bread is ways to get this the best flavour. Do the bread the night before so it is dry when you need it.
Macaroni & Cheese – This is my own recipe. I took Better Homes & Garden (from 1976!) recipe and altered it to this one. It reminds me of a better Stouffer’s mac and cheese and is a huge hit in my family.
Baked Spaghetti aka White Spaghetti – This one is a great make ahead meal as well as freezing extremely well. It may sound like it wouldn’t be a good one with the recipe, but the flavour is out of the world!
Sweet Potato Casserole – This one has not been added, (though it is promised to be added soon!) but I will link it with the site my sister-in-law got it from. All I can say is that I will be making double, since last year, I only got one serving. It was that good that it was GONE!!!!
MY chili recipe is hard to write down, since it changes slightly. IT’s a Friday Night Chili type vs my dad’s soupy one.
So I am off to finish my list, so I can get the shopping done and relax.

I about gave up on getting anything done, and I have to apologize. For some reason, pics and so on are not showing up.

In the meantime, I already sent the ladies in the group the link as soon as the chapter was ready. So they have already been reading if they are paying attention. lol!

So what have I been doing?
Pouting.
Seriously.
I was supposed to go to AZ next week and now I am staying here until Hubs M is ready to go. And we have to wait for Monday the 14th, for one lousy hour. Yep. You read that. One hour. Basically, he will get up, get ready, then wake me up to finish doing whatever I need to, then I leave (after the fun part of getting Connor into the car), only stopping for our drinks. Then I make my way there, and then we will be on our way out of town.
Needless to say, we will make it there in the same day, unless traffic is truly horrendous.
However, my muse has decided that she is on vacation. I spent 4 hours the other night, first trying to find a story to write in, then finally finishing a chapter in Edge. Four freaking hours. I normally do about 3-4 chapters in that time.
So I will be relaxing, playing games and making banners.
According to the amazing Miss Rissa, the woman I can’t live without being around. Literally. She works miracles and keeps up with things that I would be lost in trying to do! But she has told me so far 5 stories have been submitted. However, she tells me that most of you will turn them in tonight.
Please remember, if you need an extension, please let her know. I am planning to publish these on Thanksgiving so that you will have something to read after Turkey dinner or for those that are going to be waiting in lines for Black Friday. Letting me know kinda ruins that whole, I don’t know who is who thing.
I am planning to run the thing through the 15th, which means right before I leave, I will be adding the names to the banners, but I will not do it until the Friday before (since I will be spending the weekend making sure things are packed, the Traverse is ready, and double checking we have the gifts already).
And I am about to go off to research iPad issues, to see if there is a way for us to fix the issue. I hate my phone and using it to read sucks. It hates me. (which is why I hate it!)

I had started this morning on working on Picking Down Clocks. Then I had to leave to run around. So now that I am back, I will go and see if I can grab the file that Mistress Jessica had told me about. That will complete the comments she had on the chapter, and then I can post it.
So yes, it will be posted tonight, since I will be home with the puppies. So yes, the house will be be on the Brandibur lock down, unless someone wants to try to take out the dogs and attack cats.

Yep, it’s a weird title for the post for Monday, but it works. I have good news, bad news and the ugly.
Good news:
My muse visited me last night before I fell asleep with the next chapter of Breathe. No, it is not posted, I am trying to work on it and see where it goes.
There is another chapter of Picking Down Clocks ready to go. We should be fine through to when I leave on Vacation.
I am still feeling, which is great next to my last weeks of depression!
I got to spend time with the nephews on Saturday, they came here, beat up M and we all enjoyed the time.
Vacation is coming soon!!
The weather is cooling off!!! Thank God for the cooling, though I wish the warm, humid air didn’t come in before the cold fronts.
Watching the dogs since their surgery has been hilarious with the cones on their heads.
Bad news:
I have either 2 or 3 days depending on how you look at it for the instructions from the vet for the dogs. As funny as it is for the cone heads, we cannot wait to go back to ‘normal’. Not much sleep when they cry for each other through the night when they are separated.
While the depression is going away, the insomnia is sneaking back in.
For those who I read, it will be slow going, my iPad is acting up and acting like people or things are touching it when there are none doing so. I get frustrated and end up putting it down alot.
My vacation start may (probably) be moved to December 14th.

I do not think anything else can match that. So I will leave it at that. Remember, the hardest part is now, for the survivors, who are feeling guilty for doing so, the families and friends.
In addition, I would like to post this in hopes that someone reads it and thinks before the racial profile:
Oh My God. This world makes me wonder, but this is unacceptable. My prayers and thoughts are with you in France. I found out when a post to my group and CKat’s post went out.
My heart is breaking for these people, no one deserves this, and for them to hit on a Friday evening is only allowing more people to be hurt. And then on a Friday the 13th? No. This was very, very deliberate.
Take a moment and send your good wishes, thoughts and prayers for these poor souls, both the ones who have suffered, and for the ones trying to stop it from tearing apart more families.
I was sitting here, thinking no one likes the story. I saw likes, but no one was leaving anything, and finally I asked in the group what was going on. They told us the comments were being declined.
I turned and reported it to the awesome 4Padfoot and she got on it.

But, seriously!!! I have been up and working on your present, and it is STILL blacker than coal outside.
Is there no more sun? While I slept in my oddball time yesterday evening, was there an announcement that the sun took the day off?!?!?

As you know all too well, insomnia thinks it is my best friend. It sent me a necklace last night in fact. So I am back to sleeping for little hours, cat naps really, (why do they call them that? My kitten naps, along with the 7-year-old cat and they sleep for hours. Cat naps are supposed to be small increments of time.)
See, Connor and Murphy are becoming eunuchs today. Murphy is very, very aggressive lately. Connor needs to be since it makes them live longer, but seriously, it is Murphy who pushed this sooner on us. So I will be leaving here, with two hyper dogs who think they are going for a ride, then drop them off for surgery. We will pick them up later, and I for one, am so happy this is taking place today since it will mean there will only be one day that I will have to take care of two dogs alone.
So, while I was lying in bed, trying to get more than 4 and a half hours sleep, I noticed the most awesome, mighty, wonderful Beta, MistressJessica1028, had sent me the first 6 chapters of Clocks.
Let me tell you about the story behind Picking Down Clocks. I wrote it, then edited and sent it off to be betaed. MJ sent it back saying it was a little too jumbled in time. She suggested that I tear it apart and put it in chronological order. I was too anxious having my lovebirds separated, so I had them together remembering the time before. However, MJ was 100% correct in having me reorder it all.
The issue? I suck at verb tense. And it’s quite bad. For me to tear apart the chapters, (Thank GOD for OneNote, it made it a breeze to move things around and do what I needed to do!) then go back and work on them…it took months. It got to where I would watch the video for the story that 4padfoot made for me as well as the cheering in the Kittyinaz’s Facebook Group for em to struggle with it. I started to hate it frankly.
When I got out of the chapters, I was just too happy to get past them, and finish what I had written. I sent it off, and breathed a huge sigh of relief.
This morning, I got them back and opened it up to work on it. I was hesitant, and played a game of Candy Crush in fact. When your beta tells you it took them forever to work on them, you know it was bad. Then I took myself in hand and started to go through the notes MJ left me. And soon I was laughing. She left notes, rants about oddball things. All in all, I was so entertained by the whole thing I am thinking of doing the next chapters as well.
This story is one of the ones that the group begged asked for and is, in fact, the one that they broke my conviction of not doing any until they were completed.
So please take a moment, and give mighty thanks to MistressJessica1028 and her wonderful patience with my messed up chapters. She deserves it.

Truly!!! I feel so much lighter, and I actually woke up, checked my emails and got up without me needing to send out a call for help to get up. (Which Royal Ember, being the awesome friend she is, already sent me when she noticed me not up yet.)
And since writing was a bust last week, I am hoping this week will be better. I ended up playing games, and M came in and joined me yesterday. It’s interesting, since he is warlike, and I just want to build my cities. Playing together like we did allowed me to do what I like. It was freaking awesome.
So sorry I don’t have any updates where I am writing, but I will be trying to get to it this week.
