Good Afternoon Everyone!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Life has been interesting and getting better.

The sad news: Stormy is still listed among the missing.  I hope she found someone new and is living in the lap of luxury.

Now all good news.

Well after this bit of business due to the GDPR.    When you log onto Kittyinaz.com, there will be a message on the bottom of the screen about the GDPR.  It will also allow you to determine what cookies you share if you click on the settings link.  If for some reason you wish to unsubscribe to the site (Insert shocks of horror and so forth) this is a link to a video on YouTube on how to unsubscribe or you can click Here for step by step instructions if that is what rocks your boat.   I will miss you if you decide to no longer follow me and will be happy if you miss my stories and want to subscribe again.

Ok, now good news.  I have two new kittens.  And I will say two is the way to go in the future.  Loving is all done as normal, but they play with each other ALOT.

Connor has seemed to have attracted Smokey, who is the tortoise shelled kitten.  She was born around my birthday this year. She ADORES him and he is lost and always looking for M and me to rescue him.  He has started to calm down and is allowing her to sleep with him the few times she has wanted to.

Bobbie, who is the orange tabby with unusual markings, has decided that he is my cat.  He wakes me up each morning wanting me to love on him (apparently sleeping is just too long of a time without love!).  Since he is sneaky and does this before my brain connects with NOT doing it, he gets lots of love.  He follows me from room to room. Often with Smokey following him like a train of ducks.  He was born 3 months later than Smokey, but is now to the point that he doesn’t look like he is younger than her.

They have made it where my depression is not governing my life as strongly.  I am up and about and cleaning my house each day, or close enough.  Hard to quilt while they try to climb up on me while I am working.  But the pure laughter that they cause as they do Kitten things.

I was not able to work on writing, until Thursday night.  That night I got to work on All I want’s sequel.  The scene jumped in my head and has truly inspired me.  Now to make it where I finish these quilts, work on Boat seats and write all at once!

Hopefully, in a few months will start the reno on the house.  THAT will be quite interesting.

For now, I wanted to let you know I haven’t forgotten anyone.  My desktop had decided to stop working, telling me there is no Harddrive.  I was like… okkkkkkk.   But this weekend was dedicated to cleaning out the office to allow my mom to pack up her belongings so I can move into the room more.  All that will be left is her computer and the stuff needed with it NOW.  We have been doing this to each and every room, which is making it interesting for me to start arranging things the way I want it.  It won’t be done all the way until at least they move out.  They have done much for us, including selling us this house.  It may need work, but it is livable and will be awesome when we are done with it.

That is it for the heads up on what is going on.  I have to make a baby quilt and keep trucking as I finish them.  I will be posting pics as I go.  And we have a page somewhere for where I am showing the ones I have finished so far.  Just need to find where we put it!  Thanks for your patience as I move on to something to help bring in money for the renovations and so on.  Once life settles again, I hope to be able to set a better schedule for things.  But since I just got a schedule started for cleaning and so on this week and not having to drag my butt outta bed to make myself do it, I may need some time.

Life has been…Interesting

Sorry for being away.

As the title has mentioned, life has been…interesting for lack of a better word.

I have been watching videos and reading on how to do things in the interest of finishing my brothers quilt.

During which, my body decided that I have not had enough of being sick and decided that I should be allowed the joy of knowing of what a kidney stone feels like, and then have another sitting there making my life painful in not fully dropping.

So I hate standing up since my kidney lets me know that it hasn’t forgotten me. How I wish for the days past!

Also, during this time there has been a mixup between the Drs, the pharmacy and my insurance. Resulting in me being off my depression medicine and my emotions being severely out of whack. I go from not feeling anything to crying at a drop of a hat for no apparent reason.

It doesn’t help to say the least.

And if all that hasn’t been enough, my cat has gone missing when the whole me being taken to the emergency room at 3 am because of the aforementioned kidney issue. Yesterday was the worst because both my dad and I heard a cat meowing. I have a pier beam house, so everyone has been looking underneath the house in case she is too hurt or sick to make her inside.

Then, to make things more fun…

For those who have tried something new, or pushed publish on their new stories know, there is that hesitation in doing so. I get it still, in fact.

Well, I’ve been practicing the quilting method I am going to use, and I keep repeating to myself that I should be perfectly imperfect as the many quilters I have been watching tells. That the mistakes show it is handmade, and that while I see them, others wouldn’t….

However, I have been able to see them on others. I also have that need to be perfect. All culminating in a huge hesitation to do the first stitch of many… along with the many reasons above.

I also need to finish this so I can work on the commissioned piece I have. Which is a seat cover that my mom and I still disagree about on how to do. Oi vey…..

I also want to write but find myself unable to concentrate.

In short, my life is a mess, and it’s not ending anytime soon. Hopefully today I will sit down and start working on the quilt. So I can get the seat done, and feel free to start on the many other quilts I have yet to do. Get the meds I need, along with dealing with the pain in my back (literally). And be able to sit down and write, with my Stormy watching from the cat tree.

Hopefully….

Results Day!!!!

Results Day!!!!

Sorry about yesterday, it was a BAD day.  But I am awake and I worked to get the results all done and updated.

Without much ado, First Place for the General Vote:

The other placed Entries:

First Place for the Kittyinaz’s Facebook Group is:

And the other Placed Entries:

And that wraps up the Writing Challenge for December. The top banner will take you to the challenge page for you to see who all wrote your favorite stories.  I wish to thank all who entered, you are more than welcome to reply back to the comments left on your stories.  Also, you need to send me a link to your story if/when you post it to your site for me to link up.  Don’t think I will remember just cause I follow you or I reblog you.  Just leave a note on your story or contact me on Facebook with the links.  I admit I am finally getting old and sometimes things slip past me.

As you can probably guess, I am taking off the 1st quarter this year.  I have enough on my plate without worrying about anything right now. I am also going to be working this weekend on a couple of projects, and have a 2nd bday party for one of my nephews. And since one of them will be paid, it’s safe to say I will be working on that even if it extends into next week.

In regards to the stories, I am working on the chapter.  I have one more section left to edit, then I will be forwarding it to the beta.  I have added so many words so far it ain’t funny. But the last section has a meeting then the first date for someone in the story!!!     I wanted to make sure I don’t half knock it.

Thanks for all your patience.  I am trying to get back in the swing, but for my family, the holidays don’t end until after February 15th.  We get a month break from bdays.  Unless I am wrong, which could be happening!  Maybe I can get to work on other things?!?!?

Update

Update

I have the results of the contest and am waiting for the ladies in the group to do their own voting.  IF you are a member of the Kittyinaz’s Facebook Group, please head to the group and put your vote in for your choice!!!

While I am waiting, I am updating the banners in Photoshop with the places and I made new Ribbons for the contest:

I did this since the old ones were bothering me with the nice ones I made for the Kittyinaz’s Facebook Groups.  Notice that we only go 1-3rd place with Runner up now inserted for more if there are enough entries.  It will be used for 4th place, or more depending on the entries.  For Instance, this contest gets one Runner Up.  Also, the colors of the ribbons will make it easier for you guys to see who won what.  The middle is just me sayign which contest it is for.

I have been working on Chapter 10 of the Tired Wings.  I spent last weekend prepping for my next quilt, though this weekend I may be working on something someone is paying me for.  Of course, paying gets priority over my wants.  I have some more quilts to make for others, but I will be working towards making some to sell.  I’m setting up a page here on the site to showcase the ones I already made.  Once I am ready, I will be making an Etsy page, but I will also sell from this site since it is part of the theme we have.  But this will not be for awhile, since I only played, and will be dealing with that in the future.  I have all these neat toys, and I want to play with them!!!

So hopefully tonight I will finish up Chapter 10, so I can work on the next ones and get it off to the Beta.  Then I will be turning my attention to Sacred so I can get that one ready for you guys.  Hopefully, after that (or even during!!) I will feel up to writing.  I will admit, my muse is chuckling along with the chapters and they are getting MAJOR edits.  This chapter was originally 2,630 words.  It is safe to say I exceeded 1K words added to the chapter.  I am close to the end, so we will see if there are any more to be added.

I think I forgot to put it in here, but I did get a story written to me for my bday…

She has told me she has plans to continue it and I am looking forward to it if she gets the time!  I am not sure if I like the banner yet, so do not be surprised if it changes.  But seriously, go read it, and let her know what you think!! I am so much looking forward to reading more of it!

I am off to finish up the chapter and the names on the banners.  See you hopefully about this time tomorrow.  I make no promises, cause I really understand how people here in Houston are getting sick.  Yesterday the heater was on in the night for us, and today the AC had to be kicked on cause it was heading into the middle 70’s inside the house.  Our weather is rocketing from one extreme to another.  From what I understand, it is going on in the US in other places.  It sounds funny, but I wish it would just stay cold.  Summer is coming soon enough and it will probably be a scorcher again.

Have a great day/night!!!

A Chapter?!?!?!?

A Chapter?!?!?!?

Yes, you read that right.  I actually have a chapter for you to read!!!

It’s me finishing up the Twilight/Marvel that I have had written all this time.  I am needing to get to work on finishing the rest of the chapters and sending them out, but this is a way for me to get back to writing.  I edit past chapters and slowly it eases me back to my style of writing.  I will finish up this one and then work on Sacred and the rest of the load.

However, you will find me tapering off from editing and getting back into writing soon enough.  So until I get enough banked chapters, I will be posting once a week.  When during that week?  No idea.  But I will aim for a week at a time, once I get banked chapters. Banked chapters mean they are back from betas and I have done my part as well.  Right now, there are not many.  And they are for stories that are for my first fans.

Just a reminder, the writing contest is up and waiting for your reading pleasure. (Click the little banner above to go there if you haven’t had a chance yet!) The other fandom featured for those that are not in the know is Moonlight.  Please still give them a read, others have and find the stories very enjoyable.  No real knowledge of the fandom is needed, it just gives an extra umph.  And for those of you reviewing and reading,

So here is the chapter for those that want to jump right in:

And for those that want to start from the beginning:

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy!!!

Finally Got it Going!!!

Wow… When I commented that I was sick and needed some me time, I never expected it to take this long to get everything in order!!!

Then not only me but the wonderful 4Padfoot got sick as well.  Aint we a pair?

But now we are both on the road to feeling better and got both of our sides done with the contest.

That’s right!!!  We finally got the contest all loaded and ready for you guys.  It just took a month and 9 days longer than we wanted… Oi Vey.   But these stories are awesome!!! Give them a chance, reading them and you might find some new fandoms or new love for an old one!   You have until Feb 5th for voting.

And while you guys get reading (and hopefully commenting to give love to the writers!) I will be finishing up the update to Tired Wings that I am working on.  Yes, I am trying to wrap up this one so I can get on to the others as well to get back in the groove of writing/editing and more importantly, posting!

So click on the banner to be taken to the contest.  I look forward to seeing how awesome you people are by blowing up my inbox with comments for the authors!!!! Just a reminder, Authors, you cannot reply until after the 6th CST.

Thanks for everyone’s patience on this.  It is greatly appreciated.

Says everyone in Texas right now…

I am working on the banners for the contest.  I am also STILL fighting being sick.  I was doing great until we hit the gas line…

For we were doing good things, planting trees.  Many many trees.  And had our lines marked before.  And this line was NOT marked, and WAAAAAY too shallow.  Like 8 inches down instead of the 18.  We had been encountering roots for a tallow tree that we are going to cut down that ended up being the same size and color as our gas line to the house.  on the last tree to the background, we hit it.  It won’t be fixed until tomorrow.  And we did this the weekend before the last.  With the freezing temps, they are dealing with a lot of broken pipes.

So, fast forward to yesterday and today, with the temps in the single and teens wind chill, and below freezing since 2 yesterday, I believe.  If not sooner.  We just raised enough to hit the freezing temp but still having the wind chill factors in the 20’s.  I’m in the office with my mom, drinking tea, with Tucker and Connor and a heater.  The door is closed so we can be comfortable in layers.  Luckily everyone in the house is from cooler temperatures.  My family from Pittsburgh.  M’s is from Michigan, but he lived in AZ where it gets much colder in the winter than people think.   You can freeze in the fall and spring at night there.  So it does not take long for the things to come up to stay warm.  One thing is for sure, I am making more quilts for the house.  They are the best for keeping you warm!  (as long as you pick the right batting).

So I am writing to let you know I am still trucking on.  I have three banners to finish.  But The awesome bestest friend in the world, Robin, has let me know that our server will be down between 10Pm and 5 am tonight.  We do have media to go… you can find it here:

Click on Eric for the downloads

Robin says she will update the folder when she gets home, so check back to see if there are more than listed.  I am off to finish up the banners so I can get to editing.  I am REALLY ready to edit some stories to send them out to the betas so they can work on them!

Sorry.. Calling in Sick for the last month… And more.

Sorry.. Calling in Sick for the last month… And more.

So I wrote out a long post on my iPad and now I find where on there it tells me it is loading the post, here on my desktop, it shows nothing,

This has been my life on the computer lately.

To be frank, I worked myself into being sick.  Not helped by the fact that everyone around me has something that takes weeks to get over according to Dr’s.  Right now, I am having massive sinus issues, so much they are causing other issues, but nowhere as bad as my mom, who has inhalers and those awful 6 a day then 5 a day and so on pills.  And a nasty cough that sounds so bad.  I have massive irritation causing other issues, not able to breathe, headaches from hell, and being all over yucky. My mom and her boss have the same thing and heard that it will take weeks to get over this.

I also spent all Thursday working to get my computer where I can use it.  I went through 8 Microsoft techs, and was up after 2:30 in the morning, but I am slowly loading things onto the computer.  Today I am going to work on the banners.

Yes, the banners for the contest.  I am sorry, but my life became a train wreck that I could not seem t control at the end.  I was trying to finish quilts, thinking I had mailed out things like Christmas cards on another day and then going OH SHIT!! I need to make cookies! to it being Christmas the following weekend.  Only after all that, on Christmas Eve did I fall completely ill, sleeping the entire way home from my Brother’s.  I got up to open presents and then later to make dinner which thankfully was just lasagna.   And since then I have been sleeping and trying to get better.

It was only after Christmas that my mom and M was cleaning up and found Royal Ember’s shirt I made for her as well as some other things that I thought were done that I realized that Christmas cards didn’t go out nor other things I thought (Christmas Contest) were not done, and M had to calm me down from a minor Panic Attack.  Minor only because I had no energy for a major one.

After that was when we realized how bad my desktop was and led us to what happened Thursday.  Right now I am taking it easy.  The contest entries are freaking awesome.  I laughed and enjoyed them as I read them as I was bed bound.  Right now, I am up for awhile, and plan to work on them.  As Connor tries to give me some stuff he finds who knows where.  I am gaining a pile of paper right now…

Also, I found out that Teavana is going away!!!!  I am trying to find Spice of Life tea, which is my absolute favorite.  And I was told to go to David’s tea for my loose leaf selection.  Has anyone been there?  They are in the northern parts of US and in Canada. I have no idea anything about them, so I am turning to you, my readers, to find out if they are any good.  Tea is not to be taken lightly!

I wanted to let you guys know what is going on.  The good news, is that I am taking a break from quilting for a month to start working here.  Then it will be quilting on the weekends or whenever I hit a wall to help out.  I needed something else to do to other than being on the computer 24/7.  I will be starting a quilt page for this site, so showcase what I am doing.  I am NOT perfect, but I am learning.  As I was told at the International Quilt Show, there are no Quilt Police.  Just work and do the best I can.

Maybe I need to think that way on writing and stop worrying myself to so much work?  ::snorts:: As if it won’t sink in for quilts…..

The Results… Finally

2017 Christmas Writing Challenge

2017 Christmas Writing Challenge

Yep, it’s that time already.  I know I am running late, but RL has been a real pain this year.

I went back to the prompts since it is what I promised.  As it stands, these are the 10 for this year.  And I did throw one in there that made me laugh.  If you guys can work with it, I would be one happy little Kitty!

Just remember, any fandom is allowed.  And if the prompt inspires you in any way, it qualifies.  Just let me know which did so I can put the right prompt at the beginning of the story.  You can change any part of the prompt to work with your muse.

I’m putting these for the deadline of the 10th of December to give you time to write, but as always, if you need an extension, it will be granted.

Without much more fanfare, here you go.  (For the sake of those that have issues reading the cards, I am putting the words below)

1) With an awkward chuckle, he pointed to the mistletoe above their heads.

2) One brightly wrapped box under a tree, in a clearing in the forest.

3) Everyone received one present at Christmas that hints at what is going to happen next year in really cryptic ways.

4) Your character opens up a Christmas card to find out that it’s addressed from themselves, 20 years in the future! What Christmas wishes and advice does the future version of them have to offer?

5) Satan (or a character of your choice) traveling around the world every Christmas to deliver presents to all the young kids who misspell Santa on their Christmas letter every year.

6) Your character walked away from the life they know and the people they love. Now they are coming home for Christmas for the first time since then.

7) The fireplace animated the shadows of the living room that had many Christmas memories in the years past.

8) Your character has just received a very special Secret Santa gift from a secret admirer. The character decides to figure out who gave him or her the gift. What happens next?

9) A character receives a gift mysteriously for the 25 days leading up to Christmas. Each gift is a hint helping the character recognize true love and friendship in their own lives.

10) A brokenhearted character decides to spend Christmas alone, away from family, friends and loved ones. However, fate has other plans for this character.

There they are.  I hope one of them at least inspires you to write!  And as always, the rules remain the same, but you can submit more than one story, as long as you do not let anyone know.  I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.  The last time I did this, one of the stories so inspired a writer to publish their story!!!
