3rd Quarter Challenge

While this is not a Writing Challenge, it is geared to act as an inspiration to writers.

However, I wanted to bring attention to those all too often unsung heroes of Fanfiction. No, not the Betas, though they deserve their own contest, I am not sure how to honor them!

I mean the Banner Makers. As a banner maker myself it is not easy to make my own banners, much less the ones for the contests and so on. But I enjoy stretching my wings to do so!

So, while I was not able to think of doing a traditional writing contest, my busy little mind came up with this idea instead. To have the Banner makers have a contest just for them. To inspire others to write.

The theme is Steampunk. It only requires you have at least ONE item in your Banner that is Steampunk. (Examples are easier to google Steampunk, there are TONS of examples) The font does not count. This is not limited to any fandoms. I, myself, will be adding examples at the bottom of this post. My humble contributions are not going to be available for voting, but they will be up for adoption. The Winner will get the glory, and if they so permit, to be used as the background of the site for a month.

Now, here is the other shoe. After the contest is done, I wish to allow others to pick a banner and to be used to be written about. (This is the inspiration). If YOU are inspired by the banner you make, you can claim it when you send it in.

Here are the Rules:

Must use prompt(s).
All Banners must be 1920×1080
Naming the banners will be allowed, as long as there is no clue to who the artist is. If it is deemed providing a clue (the title) by the betas, then we will provide a generic title for the banner.
All fandoms are allowed.
No letting anyone knowing which Banner is yours.
All entries must be received by kittyinazwritingchallenges@gmail.com by Midnight CST at the end of the 15th of September, 2017.
When you send in the entry, please include a clean copy of your Banner without any watermarks or anything else that would tell us it is yours. Then provide one with the watermark for when the contest is finished. I also would love your website with an Author Card (See Example of Sephrenia’s) that I would use to link to your site. When the banner is claimed, if you could let me know so I can link the banner to the story that was taken by it. The size is: 888 x 499
My Banners will NOT be eligible for anything but being claimed. You can always ask for character changes. As for the contest banners, please contact the authors as soon as the contest is done.
