Rated T, 1 Year after the show
Alice and Hatter had been together for a year now. Her mother was surprised the relationship had lasted so long; Alice was usually done with a man in a few months. Hatter had easily acclimated to Alice’s world. His abilities to blend in, in Wonderland, had certainly come in handy in London.
A little store near Alice’s Dojo was available for rent three months into their relationship, and with Alice’s assistance he was able to open a tea shoppe. Blending teas was a skill every Hatter possessed. The little shoppe was flourishing and providing a good income. Hatter asked Alice to move in with him two months into their relationship. Much to everyone’s surprise, she said yes. Now, on their one year anniversary, they were getting married. They had already been married in London, but Alice felt they needed to be married in Wonderland as well. She wanted to honor and cherish Hatter’s heritage, especially since he had graciously done so for him.
On this night, she found herself standing on the night shore of the lake, holding a lit lantern; waiting for the ceremony to start. She held the lantern low to light her way. As she walked to Hatter their time in Wonderland and the past year flashed through her memory. After hanging the lantern on its pole across from Hatter’s she looked deeply into his eyes. Charlie, the White Knight and their friend, presided over the ceremony. Their were no flowery words, no revelry or bling, just the two of them on those lake shores. By the light of the moon their lives entwined just like they knew it should.
