Sitting down with a slight sense of relief, Wendy gets ready for this month’s interview. While she is doing this, she is also making a post about how to make lasagna for the Food Blog that she is in the middle of creating. The sauce is great and all done, but now comes boiling the big huge pot of water, and since a watched pot never boils, this is the best thing she can think of to do to make the time go by.
She grabs her iPad with the list of questions that Robin has posted on its own page in the Kittyinaz site, and she smiles remembering Karen’s gentle reminder that she is not to edit. She is to write up the interview and then send it to them…but: no editing on this.
She chuckles as she remembers that Godric had been happy to be chosen for the interview, and how he laughed that he won over the stories.
So when the knock sounded, she got up and answered the door to a very polite but grinning Godric. He kissed her hand as she invites him in, and he gets down on the floor to greet and play with Connor.
Wendy chuckles as she asks him, “Do you want anything to drink?”
He looks up from rubbing Connor’s belly. “Nope, and if I do, I would get it from where you so graciously keep the drinks for all of us.”
Laughing, she nods and asks, “Are you going to play with Connor or do the interview?”
He grins as he looks up, “Both. This is not the first time I have been here, nor will it be for any of your characters, so I have decided to be myself here. Connor and I like to play.” The mischievousness in his face is one she has to laugh at.
“Fine. Here is the deal, you won the interview from the ladies in the Facebook group, and they have some questions after the standard questionnaire is finished. Don’t worry about editing your words; Karen and Rissa will be doing that after we are done.”
He nods, then grabs the toy from Connor and throws it. “Please proceed. I can smell you are cooking something, and I will not want to cause you to be late in your dinner. It smells like something my Sookie would enjoy.”
Wendy can’t help but laugh. “Could be. Ok, they want your full name.”
He smiles. “Godric Nervii SohndesTodes.”
She looks up, “Sondetoades?”
He laughs. “It’s Son of Death in my language. My true name.”
She nods, and jots the answer down. “Any nicknames?”
He answers her as he throws the toy again, “Aingeal anBháis, or as most people would call me in English nowadays, the Angel of Death.”
She shakes her head. “A lot of Death there.”
He grins at her. “Being the Son of Death will do that to one. And back in my days, there was no reason to hide who my father is.”
“What is your Job?” Wendy asks him moving on to the next question.
“Right now, it is currently being Sheriff of Area Nine.” He laughs as Connor slides to a stop in front of him, and he grabs the toy to throw it again.
Wendy, laughing at the two playing, asks him, “I am just going to ask the next few questions all at once: What is your Date of Birth, Height, Hair Color, Eye Color and Build?”
He looks up and just asks, “Rissa?”
She shakes her head, “Nope… Karen and Robin came up with these. It’s for the site page they’re going to do on you.”
He sighs, then gets up to sit down, laughing at the tired puppy who wants his attention still. “I was born in the 1st Century BC. I think in the winter. My height is 1.73m, or as you American’s call it, 5’8”. My hair is brown. And my eye color is blue and my build, I guess it’s athletic?” He frowns. “How does one decide what build they have?”
Wendy shakes her head. “I have no idea. I’m just here to conduct the interviews. At least you’re not as bad as Niall was.”
He laughs. “I can just imagine how bad Niall was.”
Nodding, as she looks over the questions. Then she laughs, “Significant other?”
He grins, his eyes reflecting his love for them, “Sookie and Eric.”
She grins back at him. “Parents?”
He grins even wider, “Hades is my father. My mother passed when I was born.” He hesitates. “Sadly, I do not remember enough about her to tell you her name. She was a handmaiden to my father.”
Wendy looks at him and then nods, seeing the pain in his eyes.
“Children?”
He smiles. “Eric. And soon Sookie. For children I had with my body? None. Sookie was taken from me before we could have children.” The last is said with a hint of the pain, but he is settled, having dealt with that pain just recently.
“Who is your best friend?” She looks up at him, wondering herself.
He grins to her, “My mates. They are my lovers, my best friends, and everything to me.”
She looks down and asks the next question. “Enemies?”
He growls. “Those that oppose us. Right now Bill Compton is a tool, and we need to see who else is behind him. We also need to find out who the person in the black cloak in my vision is. That is our enemy.”
Wendy laughs at the next one. “Tattoos?”
He too laughs. “There are my tattoos from being human, the serpent on my back, the marks of my chieftainship, the mark from my father touching me for the first time. You also have the bands telling of my accomplishments, which once the three of us are mated, I will add another band with the runes to tell about it. As well as my rank in the tribe with the marks on the other side. But then there is the mark of Mating.”
Wendy Laughs. “A lot of tattoos! Any Scars?”
Godric shakes his head. “Nope, they heal as you know.”
Sniffing the air, Wendy sighs. “Godric, would you mind if we take a quick break? I have the lasagna to finish and the water is boiling. I need to finish the food blog tutorial on how to assemble the dish.”
He looks up with interest. “May I watch?”
Wendy nods. They head to the kitchen, and soon Godric is helping her pull noodles out into the ice bath and asking questions as she assembles everything. They are soon laughing as he helps her clean up, and when she is busily pulling out the first pan of lasagna.
Giggling, Wendy tells him, “If you would just stop making me laugh, I can take these pictures without the shaking from me giggling.”
Godric grins. “At least now I can make my Mate food, and teach Eric something.”
Heading back to their chairs Wendy raises an eyebrow. “Teaching Eric something?”
He nods as they settle back in their chairs. “Eric is seen as my Child, which he is, but it is hard for others to see him as otherwise when they have no idea that he is my Mate along with Sookie. But then, it was hard for me to accept it, also. I just had…a wakeup call, I think you call it. Eric is as much our Mate as Sookie is. Eric is not here to fix problems, well, other than the fact that he was missing. But it’s not as though he is needed to fix us; we were missing him from the beginning. I wonder often how interesting it will be when it is exposed that Eric is my Mate, as well Sookie being Mated to both of us. It will be interesting….”
Wendy nods, and notes the answer. She has a funny feeling it is something that the readers will be interested in knowing.
She reads through the interview and tells him, “We don’t much longer until we get past the standard questions. The next one is: What is your favorite pastime?”
He settles himself. “Spending time with my Mates. We haven’t had the chance until lately to be with each other much, so it is a joy. Other than that, there is many a night you will find us all reading, or planning or even wondering what the future will hold for us. You will find us a lot like you.” He smiles, “Lately, Eric and I are enjoying finding jewelry for our little one. And getting one over Bill Compton is actually fun for us.”
Laughing, Wendy comments to him, “You will enjoy it when you can get your revenge on him.”
He grins , and Wendy can’t help but shudder at the look on his face.
She looks down, and asks, “What is your favorite mode of transportation?”
He laughs. “Flying, but then I do love my motorcycles. I have not been able to indulge myself, since I left them all in Dallas, but I do enjoy being able to take off on them. Often Sookie comes with me, enjoying it also. It is what you call a bonding experience?”
Nodding her head with a wink, she asks him, “What is your weapon of choice?”
His face gets dark, and he tells her, “My hands, or invoking my persona of the Angel of Death. But I like to get personal with my enemies.”
She raises an eyebrow, shocked at the answer. “O-kay. Umm… any pets?”
He laughs. “Does Bill Compton count?” When Wendy shakes her head no, he answers her, “No, not at this time. Maybe later.” With that he pets Connor who is lying next to him.
“What is your best childhood memory?”
The smile on his face is one that any woman would love to see. “When I met Galiena, or Sookie, for the first time. We had been playing in the forest, and I had wondered afar from the boys’ camp, and saw her picking berries, the sun was shining down on her, and at that second, I knew she was mine.”
She smiles at him, loving how he loves Sookie. “Best teen memory?”
He quirks an eyebrow. “Depends on how you see it. If you take it by today’s standards, it would be when my father joined Galiena and me. Or when I earned my chieftainship. But for me? It was when I won the competitions allowing me to leave the boys’ camp.”
Nodding as she makes note of his answer, she commented, “It is hard when our standards of age differ isn’t it?
He nods. “I was treated by so many before the Revelation as a child. It is one of the perks I enjoy about the Revelation.”
She sighs, “Then what would be what you consider your best adult memory?”
He grins at her little remark and answers her, “When our marks began to show. Then our Mating will take over that when it happens. I am eager for that to happen and to be one with my Mates.”
She shakes her head as she gets to the next one, “What is your favorite scent?”
He gets that mischievous look to his face, “The scent of my Mates when we have all been together. There is nothing like it in the world. The three of our scents so mixed you cannot tell who is who.”
Rolling her eyes. “You sound like Karen and Sharon answering that one.” She laughs out loud.
He just grins at her.
She tells him, “Five more before we get to the five questions from the group. What is your favorite movie of all time?”
He leans back as he thinks about it. “I really liked The Sixth Sense. I figured out early what was going on, but it was still a well thought out movie. It was one that there was a chance you would get it early or not. I appreciated how the whole thing played out and while there were clues, there was nothing obvious to shout out that he was dead. Nothing. I also enjoyed Clue. It was a funny movie, and I saw it when it came out. Then I took one of my nest mates to see it. And the ending was different! It was a surprise to have different endings at random times. I loved it and ended up seeing it often to see all the endings. And they all worked!”
“If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?” She was interested in this one.
He shakes his head. “The earlier questions were much easier. But where…” He taps his fingers on the seat as he thinks. “I think my favorite place would be home. If I could take Eric and Sookie back to my home, I would love it. The times were different, and I just would love to sit at the fire looking out on the stars and listen to the tribe telling the tales with both of them there.”
She cannot help but snort when she read the next question. “How do you spend your days and nights?”
He laughs. “Well, tell them to read ITE and they can tell from there. Seriously, we need to have you jump some days, Wendy.”
She lifts an eyebrow at him, “You want that to be your official answer for those two questions?”
He nods. “It’s true!”
Shaking her head, “Last one of the agreed upon questions: What is your life aspiration?”
His look sobers. “To be with my Mates without having to worry about either of them. I am tired of the constant fighting and worrying that we seem to be doing. So I would like to have all this end, in a good way of course.”
She shakes her head. “Well, hold on, Sharon had made a note of all the questions since I was checked out mentally when the contest ended. So, let’s see….”
She sighs, then asks him, “From Leigh Warner: Is there one thing you will never do in your existence, and what would you do if Sookie asked you to do that thing you swore to yourself you would never do?”
He lifted an eyebrow. “Just Sookie, not Eric too?”
She looks back over the question. “They specifically said Sookie.”
He sighs. “There is nothing different to me about the two of them now. And is there one thing I would never do? Yes, kill my Mates, and I will still refuse if one of them asked me to do it. Though I accidentally came close to killing them both by my own stubbornness. It taught me what is important.”
She smiles at him reassuringly. Then she laughs. “Your Karen asked: Considering how you feel about vampires, humans, society, and life in general today (tonight), barring story lines, would you choose to create another Child?”
He muses on it. “She means if I didn’t make Sookie?”
Wendy thinks about it. “I will ask her to clarify when she reads this, but I think she means if it weren’t for Sookie being your Mate and the need you have for her to be your Child, would you change another person?”
Karen pipes in from stage left: “To clarify my question, barring Sookie who you will definitely turn anyway, would you choose to create another Child considering how you feel about vampires, humans, society, and life in general?”
He leans back and, steepling his fingers together, thinks about the question. “Yes. I think if I feel the pull to another child, or even met someone who would deserve the honor of it, I would. But it is hard for me to think on this since I have known for the last 20 years that I was going to change my Sookie.”
(Karen exits stage left.)
She nods. Then she looks down and laughs. “Sharon has the next two questions. The first one is: Knowing what you know now of your life, etc,, would you change anything knowing that as painful as losing Sookie was, if it hadn’t happened your life would have taken a different path?”
He lifts an eyebrow. “These are excellent questions. “
Wendy mutters, “Tell me about it. I was not looking forward to this interview.”
Godric cannot help but laugh at her, as he thinks over Sharon’s questions. “Poor, poor Wendy, having to ask such hard questions.” He pauses. “But…would I change anything? Not now. Not knowing what I know now. Everything needed to happen the way it did to cause “now” to exist. But that is a good question. I have learned not to mess with the fates.”
She smiles at him. “Good answer! Here is the next one for you to suffer through. When you and Eric first found Sookie she was a very young child. How difficult was it reconciling your feelings for her at that time?”
He sighs and rubs his face. “That one is multi-layered. I didn’t understand the pull I felt, knowing as I did that I had already met my Soul Mate. But I felt the pull, not only to have her as my Child, but as my Mate. But I also knew that she was Eric’s Mate, and I never wanted to interfere in his life. Once we found out she was my Soul Mate, the reborn version of her soul, it was not hard. She was a child. I loved her, and so did Eric. There was nothing at all carnal about it. But once she was old enough, it was hard when she and Eric first were together. But soon, soon I realized she had been waiting for us, and then I had no problem being with her. I hope that answers her question?”
Wendy is reading it over and nods. “I think she will be happy about it.”
She sighs. “I will not chicken out and skip our last question. So, I will out the deciding vote and ask our WordPress Whisperer Robin’s question: If you were going to have to live on a deserted island for the rest of your life, what six items would you bring? And, no copouts like lifetime supply of something or your Mates. We know they are going to be there.”
He laughs. “And you picked this one?”
She sighs, “Yeah. I am trying to be fair. So?”
He shakes his head. “Six items, not counting my Mates, and no lifetime supplies.” He lifts an eyebrow to Wendy, “Does she know that Eric and I can fly, so we could take Sookie out of there?”
Wendy drops her head on the iPad. “I know, and the girls brought it up. But answer her question please….”
He laughs. “I would want there to be a place of shelter for Sookie, and as long as we can keep her healthy, I would need nothing else. I would be in a private place with my Mates, and what do you think we will be doing? I wouldn’t be playing pinochle!”
She sighs, rolling her eyes. “You have 4 more items.”
He laughs, “You are being serious about this?”
She nods, commenting, “If I have to ask it, you have to answer it. There is no cop out.”
He sighs, then thinks about it. “Change of clothing for all of us. Other than that, there is really nothing. You don’t realize it, but as long as my Mates are there, I can do nothing but be with them and be happy. I would need to give the other choices to them. If it weren’t for us being able to fly out, then I would want a satellite phone that has a perfect connection, a boat to get us off out of there, and blood. But since we are daywalkers now, there is not much we would need since we feed on our Mate only. I’m sorry but I cannot answer more.”
She sighs, then notes his answer. However, before she can thank him for his time and patience, Robin bursts into the room. “Since you can’t answer my question in full, you need to answer the girls that tied with me.”
Godric raises his eyebrow at the woman in front of him, but she stands her ground to him. After a standoff of a few moments, he sighs. “Then ask.”
Wendy nods while glaring at Robin. “Allie Tiger Lydy asked: What was the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done in your 2000+ years as a vampire?”
He cannot help the laugh that came out. “The most embarrassing thing? Had to be when I drank from someone high. It affects us, but only for an hour at the most, and the person had to be really high for it to work. I drank someone at Woodstock, and Eric has a picture of me singing with a wig on to a group of women. I was so high I told them I could take them to a higher place. I have not lived it down yet.”
Wendy and Robin stared at him, then started laughing. “A wig?”
He shakes his head, “Don’t ask. I have no idea where it came from. But yeah. Last one?”
Still laughing at the mental picture, Wendy tells him, “The last one is from Megan, our lady in charge of the Food Blog: If you could experience anything, what would it be and why?”
He shakes his head. “To be one with my Mates. Why? Because my whole body craves it. I can feel their need for it, and I wish to make us all happy in that way. To be fully Mated will be the best experience I could ever ask for, for our soul that had been ripped in three to be joined back into one.”
Wendy sighs, then looks at Robin, “That work for you?”
Robin nods, grins at Godric and runs out of the room telling them, “I am going to get to work on this! Thanks Godric!”
Wendy laughs at her energy. “I need to write this and the Food Blog up, and get them out to the ladies who are waiting. Thanks for your time, Godric. Give Eric and Sookie my greetings and let them know I will try to write more soon.”
He nods, then kisses her cheek and is out of the door.
Wendy sighs and rolls her neck. “Freaking Robin. I voted for hers, and she still managed to get two more questions in there. Now to send this off to the ladies.” With that she heads to the computer, Connor trotting by her side, eager for a chance at one of the pears sitting by his mommie’s desk.
